Traveller's diarrhoea (TD) is one of the most common causes of spoilt holidays and business trips. Bali Belly, Spicy Diarrhea, The Rangoon Runs and the list goes on.
The names may be funny however they are not for the person who is going thru it. For most times, you’re in for a very unpleasant and sometimes can be serious problem. Typically caused by contaminated food or water, it must be taken seriously and best being prepared than being caught on the spot.
There are basically three types of traveller's diarrhoea and it is vital to distinguish between them as each will have a different cause and treatment program.

Travellers visiting high risk destinations such as Thailand should always carry treatment for traveller’s diarrhoea. A gastro kit containing prescription medication that you have spoken to your doctor about prior to tavelling is a smart move. There are also many over the counter medications you can take and any good chemist would be happy to steer you in the right direction.
